G4 TV and Konami recently released a “making of video” produced while we were in the midst of creating the Silent Hill 8 announcement trailer for this year’s E3. Konami producers Andy Pan and James Wong took a playable version of Rush ‘N Attack Ex-Patriot a hundred miles south from their El Segundo offices to show it off at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. Reactions were very positive. More previews, videos, screenshots and first looks have now been posted to various gaming news sites. On the show floor of the Electronic Entertainment Expo within the sizable Konami booth, a playable demo of Rush ‘N Attack Ex-Patriot could be found. Demo-ing the game to all interested parties was a terrific Konami QA guy, Sam. Those who did stop by were impressed but many were saving judgement until they could get some quality time on the controls..fair enough. At the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced Silent Hill 8 (working title), the eighth installment of the Silent Hill franchise and has given the development responsibilities to new developer Vatra, a Kuju Entertainment Group studio.
“Working on Silent Hill 8 is extremely exciting and we take this responsibility very seriously especially considering its legacy and fan base. Vatra will ensure that this eighth version of this wonderfully, entertaining survival horror series will stay true to the franchise’s original roots.” said Matthew Seymour, Studio Head of Vatra.
The Silent Hill 8 is one of two current collaborations between Konami and Vatra, the other title is is Rush‘N Attack Ex-Patriot, scheduled to be released Fall 2010 on the PlayStation® Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade.
“I am very pleased with the close knit relationship Vatra has with Konami Digital Entertainment, and we look forward to continue to work with them in close collaboration for years to come.” said Nigel Robbins, CEO of Kuju Entertainment Ltd.
Silent Hill 8 is scheduled to launch in 2011 on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

During their annual Gamers’ Night event in San Francisco, on April 8th Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. officially announced one of the games they have in development with Vatra. The first of two collaborations between Konami and Vatra is Rush‘N Attack Ex-Patriot, scheduled to be released Fall 2010 on the PlayStation®Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade. This 2.5D arcade action platformer built on the Unreal® Engine is a reimaging on the Konami’s popular arcade game originally released in 1985.
“Having this opportunity to work with Konami on two of its terrific properties is a real pleasure not to mention a considerable responsibility.” said Matthew Seymour, Studio Head of Vatra.

Vatra hires Brian Gomez to fill the newly created role of Design Director. Brian brings with him over 14 years of game design and development experience. Before signing on with Vatra, Brian was running his own design consultancy firm, Alchemic Productions while also collaborating closely with celebrated horror writer, Clive Barker on number of projects but most notably Jericho.
“I first met Brian back in his VIS Entertainment days when that studio was doing some really interesting stuff, and Brian was at the tip of the spear on all of it. So needless to say, we are absolutely delighted to have such fantastic designer and game industry veteran join us here at Vatra” said Matthew Seymour, Studio Head.

Kuju Entertainment Ltd. today announced their new development studio Vatra located in Brno in the Czech Republic.
Vatra is currently working on two unannounced titles for one of the industry’s top publishers. The games are both for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
“The Czech Republic has a long history of innovation and creative enterprise and this team lives up to that tradition. We are very pleased to have such a talented and creative group join Kuju’s family of studios.” said Ian Baverstock, CEO of Kuju Entertainment.
The Vatra team is built from both industry veterans and new talent, dedicated to making a real impact by advancing visual and sound aesthetics on core gaming platforms while employing highly disciplined programming and production practices. The studio is led by Matthew Seymour, formerly of Take Two and Microsoft Game Studios.
